Here's another old sketch. Both are grapihite on regular Canson sketch book paper. Posted by Hello

Here's some OLD sketches that I found that were really the last stuff I did before taking this class. It was kinda wild for me in that I got to see how far I'd come in these couple of months taking a class versus the rest of my life of goofing around on my own. Here's this one and the next one. Posted by Hello

OK, here's a very quick test sketch of the still life composition. Graphite on newsprint. Posted by Hello

These were blind sketches too, of the positive space (all the features).  Posted by Hello

This was a quick sketch of negative space (outline) of a still life that we are drawing. This was done blind, ie looking at the subject and not at the paper. Charcoal on newsprint. Posted by Hello

Good Morning! Well I think this one is pretty much done. The teacher extended the due date to next Monday so that we could have all of this next Wednesday's class to work on it but I'm pretty burned out on this. Posted by Hello

Hello! Last nights class was nothing short of frustrating. Here's the continuation of the still life project. The more I drew the more I realized how tough this assignment was. I still have 2 more classes on it but it is a challenge trying to get the correct light values for the different faces and shadows. Posted by Hello

OK here's the first bit of work on the shading of the still life. I'm using black and white charcoal. The black is 2B and 4B. I will be working on it again tonite. Posted by Hello

Goood Morning! OK here's the final inked line work for the still life of cardboard boxes. This is what I'm using for the transfer to Canson MI-Tientes paper. Basically, I put white charcoal (sloppily) on the back side of this line drawing wherever the dark lines are. Then I placed this on top of the real paper and traced over where all the inked lines are. Posted by Hello

Here's my final line sketch of the box composition. The proportions were all close so this is the one I will do the final work from. The final sketch will be on Canson Mi-Tientes paper - sand color to emulate the box paper color and texture. The media will be white and black charcoal. Posted by Hello

Here are sketches from in class. We are grouped up in 4s and sketching still lifes of boxes that are wrapped in kraft paper. The composition needs to have 3 boxes, 1 plain, 1 w/ twine, 1 w/ string. Single point light source (hitting from the right). Posted by Hello

Here is my homework for the rest of the semester. We have to pick a work from a master artist and reproduce it. I chose Picasso's 'Seated Nude' from his blue period. This is upper left-copy of the origional, upper right- grid and tracing then lower left, enlarged grid and line work that I will transfer soon to good paper and begin to color Posted by Hello

Hello! OK here's all of my assignment on 1 point perspective. The left and bottom are thumbnail sketches for the final piece on the right side. The sketch up top was the final one that I transferred to Bristol paper and inked. Posted by Hello
