Here's some more gestures. Posted by Picasa

Some warm ups from last night's class. Posted by Picasa

Last night's class focused on proportion. We had to find the top bottom and mid point of the model and transfer that to our composition. It was actually pretty tough and took a long time. Each of these were like 20 minute sketches. Posted by Picasa

This was from an open drawing session that I ewnt to on Sunday. I was origionally going to work in pastels but I spent way too ,uch time trying to make her right arm foreshadowing work and just had enough time to do this in charcoal. Posted by Picasa

This was a 10 min sketch then a switch with our neighbor and finished their sketch for another 10 min. I did the black charcoal work and the bluish-green was added by the other student. Posted by Picasa

This was homework of 20 thumbnail sketches. The idea was to focus on composition. Posted by Picasa

This was seriously fun. We partnered up with the person next to us and drew for 10 min then we switched papers and finished our partner's drawing. It was totally fun. Posted by Picasa

This one came out great. I fell in love with this one after it was done. Same idea as the last one, try to create volume.  Posted by Picasa

Here was one using cross contour and different lines to give the drawing a sense of volume or 3D roundness to the model. Posted by Picasa

Here's a bunch of images from last night's class. This was the opening series of warm ups. 1min gestures where we switch and draw on the next person's paper after each minute. pretty fun. Posted by Picasa

Here's an adjusted contour drawing from last Wednesday. I like how totally huge I made her legs. Posted by Picasa

This was a 15 min pose of the model and the teacher in graphite Posted by Picasa

Here was a study in cross contour drawing. Posted by Picasa

Here was the final contour drawing of the night. Top left was Sharpie marker adn the bottom right was ink and Chinese brush. Posted by Picasa

We started playing with contour line drawings. These were blind contour drawings (you can't look at the paper while drawing) in Sharpie marker on Newsprint. Posted by Picasa

This was kinda fun. We do a 60 sec gesture then move positions to the right and draw on that person's paper and keep going. Mine was upper left. Posted by Picasa

More warm up gesture sketches from Monday nights class. Posted by Picasa
